A hot-metal mixer receives the output of blast furnaces delivered by 'Hotmetal Ladle Wagon' <kuid:84609:50201>.
Scrap steel dumped from rail wagons into a long bin is then transferred to furnace charging containers by a crane using a magnetic head.
Coal used to produce heating gas for the furnaces is unloaded to a stockpile from open wagons.
When routine checking shows sufficient hot metal in the mixer, scrap steel in the bins and coal in the stockpile, then, if one of the 3 open hearth furnaces is idle, it will be charged with these inputs to cover a 10-hour firing period. Because the firing time is beyond the scope of a normal session, and because the furnaces are under cover, no detailed modelling or animation of the furnace and its processes has been undertaken.
The steels billets in the melting-shop soaking oven are processed by a rolling mill to produce steel bar that is loaded onto rail wagons by gantry cranes.
This asset is compatible with the Shedmaster rule <kuid:160293:10065>. Compatability must be set using Edit Properties in Surveyor.
