Coal pile spline 01

A coal pile spline (2.3m high, 7m wide) with fist-sized lumps of black coal. It becomes snow-covered when above the layout's environmental snowline.
This is an example of a randomised spline. It has 4 different repeat units, 4 levels of detail and 2 alternative skins (coal and snow-covered coal). The repeating units rearrange each time a spline point is moved, which can be used to vary the shape of the pile.
LOD's in the 10m repeat units; 140 triangles to 100m, 100 tri's to 400m, 20 tri's to 1000m and 4 tri's beyond 1000m. 1 material per mesh. Created for Normhart using 3DS Max 2009.
