DHR2 Base Session for 2025 edition

This is base session for the rebuilt Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, known as DHR2 on the DLS. All used assets should be available on the DLS.

The basic premise of this base session is to have two AI trains travelling end-to-end on the DHR once per day. These trains depart each end of the line at 0901 and 1001 hours each morning, passing each other in Tindharia at lunchtime. Upon arrival late in the day they will run-around, and load the schedule for the next day's trip in the opposite direction. These trains are the scheduled passenger movements on the line and have the highest priority on the DHR. There are no wyes on the route, so the steam locos always operate facing uphill. The player must operate around these trains with player trains, or simply ride them to experience the majesty of this world heritage listed Himalayan railway line.
At the southern end of the DHR, broad gauge Indian Railways tracks run alongside the DHR inside the large urban sprawl of Siliguri, West Bengal. This base session generates broad gauge traffic along these lines on a fairly frequent basis (which can be adjusted by the player as wished in the session layer). A player operating a little narrow gauge train in this area must negotiate several grade crossings and a long gauntlet bridge across these broad gauge lines. Indian Railways flagmen are present to protect the crossings, but they are a little on the sleepy side, so the player must exercise caution when making these crossings. The AI drivers often have an 'incident of concern' on these crossings, so when driving make sure you look left and right !
