UP FEF-3 844 Hancock 3 Chime Whistle
A common sight on larger Union Pacific steam locomotives, the long bell steamboat 3 chime whistle developed by companies such as Nathan who put them on Western Maryland's J1 Potomacs, is most famously manufactured by the Hancock Inspirator Co. These whistles were commonly used by the Norfolk and Western, Western Maryland, Southern Pacific and the Union Pacific, especially on the Big Boys, Challengers and FEFs, notably 844.
