Florida East Coast Railway
Coastal railroading at its best! Loosely based on the real world Florida East Coast (FEC) railroad and covers in a selectively compressed manner that part of the route which runs north of Jacksonville thru Miami to Key West and some points to the west. The FEC was incorporated in 1895 by Henry Flagler, it remains in existence today. It's best known for its Key West Extension which was completed in 1912 and provided service until Labor Day, 1935 when it was severely damaged by a horrific hurricane but recreated here in a modernized version for your enjoyment. Includes some FEC passenger and freight rolling stock and locomotives done by me to get you started. Packed with lots of freight and passenger operational possibilities! This layout is a greatly updated and enhanced version of the original November 2004 Florida East Coast layout by Michael Fox (foxgraphix). My thanks to the original author for his great work! My thanks also to all the third party developers whose content make layouts like this one possible. Lots of scenery and attention to detail so this layout will require a computer with good graphics handling capability. Setting is 1990s or later, This is a multi-seasonal layout. Only the fruit trees and palm trees are SpeedTrees. Minimum requirements are TRS2012 SP1 or T:ANE with all hot fixes applied.
