Remotely switch junction for shunt
Use this command in the schedule of an idle loco to set the path for shunting by a player-driven train. The command detects the player-driven train leaving the inner trigger radius of the selected junction. Such detections prompts the command to change the junction direction away from its default and then later to restore it.
Consider a junction in a railway yard. It has a Neck track that splits at the junction into a Straight and Diverge track. The default switch direction of the junction is from the Neck to the Straight. A set of 4 shunt movements has the player-driven train on the Straight move to the Neck than reverse into the Diverge, then usually return to the Straight via the Neck.
By executing this command in an idle loco's schedule at a point before the player-driven train starts the set of shunt movements, the junction switching to support the movements is accomplished without involvement of the player.
Instances of junctions to be controlled MUST be given localised names using Edit Properties in Surveyor.
Junction pairs (2 junctions operated by 1 control lever) are auto-detected by a naming convention. The names of paired junctions are identical except for the final character being 'a' for one and 'b' for the other. To select a junction pair, choose the junction that will be first entered by the target train. It is assumed the default switch direction of both junctions in a pair is the same.
There are 2 user-selected modes of operation of the command : 'Diverge' and 'Shuffle'. Diverge mode resets the junction to its default switch direction upon the second passage of the player-driven train over the junction. This would be uased if the train is not to return to the Main. Shuffle mode resets the junction to its default switch direction upon the third passage of the player-driven train over the junction. This enables the train to return from the DIverge track to the Main.
Two presentations of the menu to the user are required: the first to select the target junction. The second presentation is to select the command mode as described above. Only after the selection of the wanted modw will the command being added to a schedule. Selection of the target junction is a preparatory step that does not add a command to the schedule.
If the user is adding to a schedule or schedules a sequence of instances of this command for the same target junction, then selection of the target junction may be bypassed for all but the first addition in the sequence. The identity of the current target junction is given at the bottom of each menu presentation.
