The DC double-section electric freight locomotive 2ES6 SINARA is designed to haul freight trains on 1520 track gauge rail lines electrified at 3 kV DC.
The locomotive can haul freight trains with 8,000 tons on gradients up to 6 0/00 and trains with 5,000 tons on gradients up to 10 0/00.
The locomotive is designed for multiple-unit operation; however, single units may also operate independently.
