LMS Beyer Garratt - 4969 Black

The London, Midland and Scottish Railway Garratt 2-6-0+0-6-2 steam locomotives were designed specifically to work heavy block coal trains from Nottinghamshire to London along the Midland main line. Built by Beyer-Peacock using LMS standard parts where possible 33 were built between 1927 and 1930, making them the most numerous class of Garratt in Britain.
