Carson Old Engine House, ca 1880s

The original Virginia and Truckee engine house in Carson City as shown in a ca 1880s photograph; with boarded-up windows and no smoke jacks; without the cantilevered watch room.
Built in 1870, by now it was used primarily for rolling stock storage. It served until the end of the railroad in 1950.
