V & T 24ft Flat Car; mineral red

A 24 foot flat car used on the Virginia and Truckee Railroad.
The V&T built 35 of these cars from 1869-1870, using kits from the Kimball Mfg. Co. in San Francisco.
Paint records are non-existant, but these cars were likely painted red around 1880.
Average weight is about 13750 lbs. 15 ton capacity.
